The Right To Play charity tournament happens tonight and already promises an array of top poker pros taking part. 

Among those hoping to compete are Team PokerStars SportStar and Brazilian football legend Ronaldo plus fellow SportStar Fatima Moreira De Melo. Today's announcement of our settlement with the U.S... Department of Justice (DOJ) closes one chapter in our corporate history and opens another.

We have admitted to no wrong-doing with reference to our past U.S. operations and will now focus all of our energy and resources on advancing our global business, which now includes operating Full Tilt Poker. You can see details of the announcement at our PokerStars press center.

We plan to re-open the entire Tilt site and, most importantly, we can make available all funds for players outside the united states.. within 90 days of the formal close of the deal, so that it will occur within the next seven days. The cash paid to the united states Government will partly be used to reimburse former Full Tilt Poker customers within the United States, through a remission process to be administered by the dept of Justice.

Paying back Full Tilt players was a key component in our agreement to procure the assets. This isn't only important to the person players who've had their bankrolls tied up for greater than a year, but it is also vital to re-building trust in online poker and instilling confidence within the global poker economy.

It's too early to start out disclosing many information about our strategic plans for Full Tilt, but our first order of commercial is to re-open the site, pay back all the players and start rebuilding Full Tilt's reputation. Going forward, we will be able to operate Full Tilt as a separate brand, giving players another leading and trusted platform to benefit from the game. The re-launched Full Tilt site will bring back the innovative features, the authentic poker and the cutting-edge software that made it so well-liked by millions of players worldwide.

Advertisements looking to fill positions running an internet casino were released by land-based slot machine company WMS.

WMS Gaming, a manuacturer of slot machines for land-based casinos, is seemingly preparing to expand its interests to incorporate online casinos. In line with a report by Casino City Times, the Illinois company has posted ads seeking employees with experience in online gambling operations.

The ads include positions for affiliate manager, creative designer, payments director and risk analyst. The listings specify that the operation could be a UK Internet gaming company, and job positions can be based in London.

WMS has long been a premier manufacturer of hardware for land casinos all over the world. Movement toward online operations could also be an try to redefine its business to incorporate the prospective overshadowing of land gambling by Internet casinos.

WMS is also following the trail being set by Harrah's Entertainment, the land-based gaming giant which has begun offshore online casino operations in anticipation of eventual opening of the united states market. While neither Harrah's nor WMS has shown any indication of accepting US residents as customers, each may seek an advantageous position when the market conditions change.

Pressure continues to construct within the US Congress to manage online gambling and protect individual rights to make a choice Internet casino gambling. I have two favorite poker forum non sequitur responses. I’m talking about contributions to an ongoing discussion that have a tendency to not contribute anything whatsoever as opposed to to make everyone stop and laugh for a moment.

From today until Sunday, the Casino de Espinho hosts the third and last event of the primary season of the PokerStars Portugal Poker Series. The tournament follows the primary successful stages in Vilamoura last April, and Figueira da Foz in June.

Today's €770 event starts at 2pm local time, and players gets 15,000 starting chips to play 60-minute levels. In other words, it's a cheap buy-in with a big-tournament structure.

A few miles clear of Oporto, the second one biggest Portuguese city, Casino de Espinho has the most important poker site in Portugal and is the normal home of the most important tournaments within the country, except for the 2 EPT stages held in Vilamoura in seasons 6 and seven.
