Up until last year, there really wasn’t much to get excited about if you were an online poker tournament player residing in the United States. But in 2015 Americas Cardroom really made a lot of headway in bringing the excitement of big prize pool tournaments back to US customers.

Before I get too far into that, let me hash out what’s coming your way in short order on Americas Cardroom. We’re picking up right where we left off by hosting our first tournament series of the year in January.

The High Five tournament series will run from Jan. 20-24. The 25-event series (five each day) will guarantee a monster $840,000 in prize pools over and above the regularly scheduled events that will continue to run throughout. The series concludes with a massive $420,000 GTD event with a $420+$35 buy-in.

This series has something for everyone with game types including Texas hold’em, PLO and PLO8. Structures include regular, turbo and hyper-turbos, with 4-max, 6-max, and 9-max variations. Buy-ins range from as little as $2.20 all the way up to the $455 Main Event.

The High Five is just one of the many tournament series we’ll have coming your way in 2016. Last year we made good on our promise to bring the excitement of big prize pool poker back to the USA. We successfully hosted a number of $1,000,000 GTD Million Dollar Sundays tournaments, we ran our biggest promotion of the year with last fall’s $5 Million Promo ($5 Million in guarantees over 7 tourneys), and hosted our biggest Online Super Series to date – guaranteeing $2.6 million over 10 days starting in late November.

Our regular tournament schedule got a huge boost as well. We now have the biggest weekly Sunday major of all the US facing poker sites. The Sunday Special is a $115,000 GTD no-limit hold’em tournament that runs every Sunday at 3 pm ET.

Every Wednesday we offer a $1,000+$50 buy-in $1k Cage Event that is the only cash game in time based tournament format available in all of online poker. Players have literally parlayed a $55 satellite entry into 5 digit scores, while experiencing the thrill of playing for nosebleed stakes as high as $25-$50.

We’re pretty proud of our improved tournament schedule and look forward to bringing you bigger and better events in 2016. While we can’t announce everything we have planned for 2016, I can tell you that it will be big, and that the High Five Tournament Series is the tip of the iceberg for what’s planned.
