DraftKings: Week 10 NFL DFS Picks

As the NFL season rolls on, the picture starts to become a little bit clearer for those of us paying attention. Questions like — Which teams can’t stop the run? Which teams are good bets to get lit up by the pass? Which running backs can we really rely on to be the lead dog for their team? — start to get answers that are a little more reliable.

With this in mind, we can really start to hone in on the top plays of the weekend for DFS. This week, I’m going to look at one player at each position who makes for the top cash game option of the week at DraftKings.

While these suggestions have cash games in mind, you could surely throw them into the $5 Million Guaranteed Millionaire Maker tournament this weekend.

QB

Aaron Rodgers ($7,500) – While I firmly believe that Rodgers is the best quarterback in the world, I’ve rarely viewed him as a player to use in DFS this year. Well, that is changing this weekend. Rodgers finds himself at home in Lambeau Field where he’s been much better statistically over the last couple years. He also draws a plum matchup with the Detroit Lions, who have been getting torched all season by opposing quarterbacks. Sometimes, everything just lines up for a stud player to have a monster week, and this is that week for Rodgers.

RB

Darren McFadden ($4,900) – Todd Gurley and Mark Ingram make for strong plays at the running back position, but I wanted to dig a little to offer up a running back that could give you some salary relief. This isn’t much of a blowup spot for McFadden facing a solid Bucs run defense, but for $4,900 in full PPR McFadden is likely to hit value based on volume alone. In the past two weeks McFadden has turned in very passable performances against a pair of nightmare matchups for running backs in Philadelphia and Seattle. I’m expecting more of the same this week as McFadden is playing a ridiculous percentage of the snaps for a player at his price tag.

WR

Randall Cobb ($6,700) – There are loads of great values at wide receiver on DraftKings this week. Demaryius Thomas is far too cheap. Brandon Lafell is a slam-dunk for $4,100. Cobb, however, is in the strongest position of all. In the full PPR scoring on DraftKings, players who see a high volume of high percentage targets are ideal to target. Cobb plays the overwhelming majority of his snaps in the slot and sees a ton of short looks from the league’s best quarterback. Cobb squares off with a Detroit team that really struggles to contain slot receivers so I’m expecting him to have a field day.

TE

Jordan Reed ($4,600) – Reed has slowly developed into one of my favorite players in fantasy football. There’s no messing around when he’s on the field. If he’s running routes, he’s getting the ball thrown his way. Period. Last week, Reed really struggled throughout the game but managed a late touchdown to salvage his day. That just highlighted another reason I love Reed. He’s a target monster once the Redskins get in close. Per Pro Football Reference, Reed is seeing over 30 percent of the Redskins targets inside the ten-yard line on the season. With a cheap price, the best or second best matchup a tight end can have, a heavy target volume and lots of red zone usage, Reed has a ton going for him this week.
