The City of Dreams poker site have been buzzing all week here with APPT Manila Season 10 in full swing, and things are about to get much more electric with the ₱50,000 Main Event kicking off from 5pm August 4.
From humble beginnings APPT Manila has gone from strength to strength. The massive influx of players from the whole entrants of 558 in 2014 to the impressive 2,769 last year has seen the series establish itself as probably the most popular stops at the tour.

The festival kicked off on July 28 and now all eyes can be set at the Main Event - and maybe one player greater than others. Australian superstar and the APPT's only two-time champion Aaron Lim is back on the town and can be seeking to defend his title this week.
Lim overcame a field of 585 last year to raise the trophy and take home ₱6,016,250. He's also in fine form after shipping the APPT Seoul High Roller just a few weeks ago. And if that wasn't enough to provoke you, he returns today as chip leader of only 25 remaining on this week's ₱200,000 High Roller event.

Lim could have a tricky field to cope with when he gets to the primary Event as a powerful PokerStars Team Pro contingent could also be out in force. Bryan Huang, Yaxi Zhu, Vivian Im, Kosei Ichinose, Celina Lin, and Chen An Lin are all in Manila this week and are at the hunt for the following APPT title.
The roster has already had a perfect begin to the series with Ichinose final tabling the hole Warm Up Event 1, before Chen An Lin emerged victorious within the Deepstack NLH Freezeout Event 2. We'll be keeping a detailed eye on how the Team Pros progress by and large Event over the following couple of days.

The Main Event includes two Day 1 flights and five days overall with the eventual champion crowned on Monday. Time will tell if this iteration will eclipse last year's numbers as APPT Manila continues to grow. Day 1a is simply a couple of hours away and all that's left to do now could be get the cards within the air.
As always we'll have everything it's important to know direct from the tournament floor. You'll want to stick with us all week here at the PokerStars Blog!
