PokerStars Releases Tentative WCOOP Schedule With $100k Super High Roller and Mini WCOOP | PokerNews
The World Championship of Online Poker starts September 4th and this weekend Bryan Slick asked for feedback at the tentative schedule over at the PokerStarsBlog.
Headlining the schedule is the $102,000 Super High Roller (8-max single reentry) planned for Sunday September 18th. A $10,000 Heads Up High Roller (September 10th), a standard $10,000 High Roller (September 11th) and a $21,000 6-max PLO High Roller (September 23rd) make for an action packed high stakes schedule. The $5,000 Main Event is planned for Sunday September 25th with a guaranteed $1.5 million to the winner.
The schedule, with 82 events, is not the only thing grabbing the eye of poker players, the announcement of a Mini WCOOP has also got the blood flowing for lower stakes players. Slick described the Mini WCOOP as a separate series of tournaments, equal to it's bigger brother with only the buy in being smaller.
Tournaments of the Mini WCOOP can have buy ins starting from $1.10 through $11, with the Mini WCOOP Main Event as notable exception with a buy in of $50.
There may be an especially limited number of satellites to Mini-WCOOP Events, with a purpose to run at the same dates and on the same times, within the same formats, because the WCOOP Events which each and every one mirrors.
Whether the structures for the events are equal to the larger regular WCOOP events, is yet to be seen. Mini WCOOP tournaments is not going to appear under the WCOOP tab within the PokerStars client as they aren't a part of WCOOP proper.
PokerStars asks for feedback at the schedule via wcoop@pokerstars.com. Check out all the tentative schedule on PokerStarsBlog.com.
