After 14 levels of play the list of potential LAPT9 Bahamas champions shrunk from 220 to just 10.
Georgios Sotiropoulos is in the lead with 3.98 million and our final 10 players will come back at noon to play down to a champion. --AV
2:10am: Three more
Level 26 - Blinds 20,000-40,000 (5,000 ante)
The clock has stopped and play will continue for three more hands.
There's still a chance we'll make the final table, but we'll probably finish the day with 10 players. --AV
2:05am: Massey out in 11th
Level 26 - Blinds 20,000-40,000 (5,000 ante)
We're down to 10 players with 20 minutes left in the level.
Aaron Massey was our most recent elimination. Like many others, he was eliminated after showing a blip of hope.
Massey first doubled up to about 300,000 after he moved all-in with [ks][7h] against Taylor Von Kriegenbergh's [4d][4c].
Massey paired his seven on the turn but couldn't survive his next all-in.
Darren Elias raised to 85,000 a few hands later and Georgios Sotiropoulos called. Massey moved all-in for 377,000, Elias re-shoved and Sotiropoulos folded.

Elias: [qh][qc]
The board ran [9h][4h][Jc][9c][Tc] and the tournament shrunk again. Massey won $18,900 for the 11th place finish while Elias chipped up to about 1.7 million. --AV
1:55am: Burkholder books it
Level 26 - Blinds 20,000-40,000 (5,000 ante)
Troy Burkholder was down to 329,000 and moved it all-in from the hijack. Georgios Sotiropoulos called from the cutoff and showed a dominating [ad][kh] to Burkholder's [as][jd].
The [5h][jh][ah] gave Burkholder two pairs, but it also gave Sotiropoulos a flush draw. A [9h] came on the turn and Sotiropoulos hit his flush.
Burkholder won $16,920 for the 12th place finish while Sotiropoulos closed in on the lead with 2.8 million. --AV
1:45am: Lockhart leaves
Level 26 - Blinds 20,000-40,000 (5,000 ante)
Christopher Lockhart wasn't able to mount a comeback despite his triple up and double up.
In Lockhart's penultimate hand, Taylor Von Kriegenbergh moved all-in for 494,000 from early position and Lockhart called from the button.
Lockhart was in the lead with [as][jh] to Von Kriegenbergh's [ks][qs], but Von Kriegenbergh spiked a pair on the river of a [4h][3d][5s][2c][kh] board.
Von Kriegenbergh doubled up to about 1.1 million while Lockhart was left with a measly small blind.
Andre Akkari raised to 85,000 the next hand and Lockhart called all-in from the cutoff.
Lockhart showed [Th][2s] and Akkari tabled [as][kh]. The [9s][2d][jh] flop paired Lockhart's deuce but then an [ah] came on the turn. The [6s] completed the board and Lockhart was eliminated in 13th place while Akkari chipped up to 1.7 million. --AV
1:35am: Level 26
Level 26 - Blinds 20,000-40,000 (5,000 ante)
Players have reached the final level of the day.
The final 13 player have 50 more minutes of poker at 20,000-40,000 blinds with a 5,000 ante before they can call it a night. --AV
1:27am: Another one down
Level 25 - Blinds 15,000-30,000 (4,000 ante)
Ismael Bojang doubled up through Raymond Latinsky earlier in the level and left him severely short stacked.
Now he finished the job and sent Latinsky to the rail.
Bojang is now up to 1.2 million while Latinsky won $15,280 for his 14th place finish. --AV
1:20am: Triple and a double
Level 25 - Blinds 15,000-30,000 (4,000 ante)
Christopher Lockhart had been slowly dipping and then moved all-in for 72,000 from the small blind after Andre Akkari had raised to 60,000 from the cutoff.
"He can't re-raise right?" Troy Burkholder asked.
The dealer nodded, Lockhart's all-in wasn't enough for Akkari to act again. Burkholder called from the big blind and went along for the ride.
Akkari and Burkholder checked down the [qc][7c][5c][4d][8d] board and then mucked when Lockhart showed [qs][8h] for two-pair.
Lockhart then doubled up a few minutes after his triple up. Lockhart moved all in for 228,000 from middle position and Georgios Sotiropoulos called from the cutoff.
Lockhart showed [4s][4c] and was in rough shape against Sotiropoulos's [ac][ah].
"You'll make it," Troy Burkholder said.
And he was right.
Lockhart hit a straight on the river of a [5s][6c][as][7h][3d] board and doubled up to over 500,000 while the loss barely made a dent in Sotiropoulos' stack of 2.4 million. --AV
1:10am: A double and a loss
Level 25 - Blinds 15,000-30,000 (4,000 ante)
It was up and down for Ismael Bojang before he scored a double up.
Bojang moved all-in with pocket aces and Raymond Latinsky called with pocket jacks.
Bojang's lead was cut short when the [9c][jc][6c] flop gave Latinsky a set of jacks. But then a fourth club came on the turn and Bojang hit a flush.
There were no surprises on the river and Bojang doubled up to about 1.1 million while Latinsky dipped to 330,000.
Danny Noseworthy then shoved from under-the-gun the following hand and Knut Karnapp called from the big blind.
A short-stacked Noseworthy showed [ac][Th] and Karnapp tabled [4c][4s] for a flip.
The [7d][3c][qs][js][5h] board brought no surprises for either player and Noseworthy was eliminated in 15th place while Karnapp's stack rose to 1.4 million. --AV
12:55am: Schemion shlacked
Level 25 - Blinds 15,000-30,000 (4,000 ante)
Ole Schemion was the first to exit the final two tables.
Schemion jammed his short stack in with ace-king offsuit and Georgios Sotiropoulos called with king-queen offsuit.
While Schemion had the dominating hand, Sotiropoulos hit two pair on the flop.
Schemion finished 16th in his first ever LAPT cash while Sotiropoulos chipped up to about 2.5 million. --AV
12:45am: Level 25
Level 25 - Blinds 15,000-30,000 (4,000 ante)
Players are back from break and ready for the last two levels of the night. Play could stop before that but players would have to make it down to a final table and that doesn't seem likely.
Blinds are currently 15,000-30,000 with a 4,000 ante and the final 16 players are guaranteed $13,620 for making it this far. --AV
12:30am: Break and table draw
Level 24 - Blinds 12,000-24,000 (3,000 ante)
Jeff Rossiter fell in 17th place and players redrew to the final two tables.
There were a few minutes left in the level and players got to play a few hands before they went off to their final 15-minute break of the day. --AV

12:12am: Double double
Level 24 - Blinds 12,000-24,000 (3,000 ante)
A short stacked Chad Eveslage moved all-in with [qh][jd] and got called by Taylor Von Kriegenbergh and his [ah][kh].
Von Kriegenbergh was in the lead but the [7s][8h][qc] flop quickly changed that. The turn and river brought tiny bricks and Eveslage doubled up to about 500,000 while Von Kriegenbergh dropped to about 120,000.
Then Von Kriegenbergh doubled up the following hand.
Danny Noseworthy raised to 55,000 and Von Kriegenbergh moved all-in. Noseworthy called and showed [8c][7c] to Von Kriegenbergh's [qs][9d]. Noseworthy hit two pair on the [ks][8s][7h] flop but then two spades came on the turn and river to give Von Kriegenbergh a flush.
Von Kriegenbergh doubled up to about 300,000 while Noseworthy was left with about 850,000. --AV
11:54pm: River stall
Level 24 - Blinds 12,000-24,000 (3,000 ante)
There were big pots on all three tables with a final river bet on each.
Each player was deep in thought while those not in the hand went to wander around and watch the similar inaction at the other tables.
Troy Burkholder had moved all-in on the river of a [Ts][8h][5c][Tc][3c] board and Knut Karnapp was deep in thought.
One table over, Elias bet 170,000 into the river of a [7h][jh][3s][5d][8s] board and Georgios Sotiropoulos was contemplating his next move.
The other table had Jeff Rossiter deep in thought. Akkari had just bet 315,000 on a [4c][As][qh][9h][9d] board.
Akkari had been on a roll and also eliminated Fraser MacIntyre in 17th a few minutes earlier. Whatever Rossiter's train of thought had been it concluded that he should fold.
In fact, all three players folded and all three large pots were won without a showdown. --AV
11:32pm: Level 24
Level 24 - Blinds 12,000-24,000 (3,000 ante)
Blinds are up again. The final 18 players will have another 50 minutes of poker at 12,000-24,000 blinds with a 3,000 ante before they get another 15-minute break.
Joe Kuether is still steadily in the chip lead with 2.5 million. --AV
11:25pm: The Akkari show
Level 23 - Blinds 10,000-20,000 (3,000 ante)
"I'll make you a deal," Fraser MacIntyre told Andre Akkari. "If you call I'll show you both cards. If you don't, just one."
Akkari and MacIntyre were on the river of a [Th][Qh][8s][3d][Jd] board and MacIntyre had just bet 75,000.
"I haven't beat you all night," MacIntyre added while Akkari thought.
And the Team Pro would win that hand as well. Akkari called with [8d][6h] and it was good enough.
"Good call," McIntyre said and showed [5d][3h].
That was just minutes after Akkari took another big pot off of McIntyre. In that hand, Akkari raised to 45,000 from under-the-gun and McIntyre called from the big blind.
MacIntyre check-called a 51,000 bet on the [6c][Th][2h] flop and check-called a 77,000 one when the [7s] came on the turn. Both players checked the [ks] on the river and Akkari took down the pot with [as][tc] to McIntyre's [8h][8d].
Those pots put Akkari up to at about 1 million while MacIntyre dipped to about 200,000.
Then Akkari knocked out our start-of-day chip leader.
Tyler Hurman raised to 42,000 from early position and Akkari called from the small blind. Akkari bet 48,000 on the [2h][3d][Td] flop and Hurman raised to 100,000. Akkari called and an [ad] came on the turn.
Akkari checked and Hurman moved all-in. Akkari called and showed [3s][3h] to Hurman's [ah][Tc].
Hurman couldn't fill up on the river and Akkari's set of threes took the pot. Hurman won $11,960 for the 19th place finish while Akkari chipped up to about 1.5 million. --AV
11:05pm: Akkari doubles again
Level 23 - Blinds 10,000-20,000 (3,000 ante)
Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari is now up to about 750,000.
Akkari and Fraser MacIntyre were faced with a [kc][4h][Ac] flop and MacIntyre checked from the big blind. Akkari bet 50,000 from under-the-gun and MacIntyre called.
The turn brought a [7d] and another check from MacIntyre. Akkari moved all-in for 267,000 and MacIntyre called.
Akkari showed a flush draw with [jc][4c] while MacIntyre had a pair of aces with [as][8s]. The river brought Akkari a club, a flush and a double to 750,000 while MacIntyre was left with slightly less than 1 million. --AV
10:55pm: In the teens
Level 23 - Blinds 10,000-20,000 (3,000 ante)
A short-stacked Darren Elias barely survived an all-in before break, but then he eliminated Mike Leah minutes into the new level.
Leah moved all-in for about 140,00 from the button with [qd][9d] and Elias called from the big blind with [qh][qc]. The board came [ad][ah][5c][8c][8h] and Leah hit the rail in 20th while Elias rose to 340,000.
That wasn't the first elimination of the level though.
Shortly before that, Kuether's massive stack absorbed Daniel Weinman's. Kuether had [ah][jh] in front of him on a [jc][4s][kc][9d][3s] board while Weinman solemnly walked away with tournament staff.
Kuether racked up Weinman's former chips and increased his lead to about 2.6 million.
The tournament is now down to 19 players. --AV
10:42pm: Back from break
Level 23 - Blinds 10,000-20,000 (3,000 ante)
We're back for more non-stop poker action.
Well, it'll be non-stop for 100 minutes and then players will take another 15-minute break. For now, they'll enjoy 50 minutes of poker with 10,000-20,000 blinds and a 3,000 ante. --AV
10:30pm: Break
Level 22 - Blinds 8,000-16,000 (2,000 ante)
Players are on another 15-minute break and free to do whatever they wish. They can even go play more poker.
Joe Kuether is still in the lead with 2.3 million and only 21 players remain. --AV
10:20pm: Tiny double for Elias
Level 22 - Blinds 8,000-16,000 (2,000 ante)
Darren Elias was severely short stacked but woke up with [ah][qh] and Georgios Sotiropoulos called with [qd][7h] and a massive stack. Sotiropoulos hit a [7s] on the flop but but Elias spiked an [ad] on the river.
Elias is still short with about 230,000 while Sotiropoulos still has around 1.7 million. --AV
10:10pm: Akkari doubles
Level 22 - Blinds 8,000-16,000 (2,000 ante)
The last Team PokerStars Pro in the field is also the last Brazilian.
He also just got a burst of life after doubling up through Tyler Hurman. Andre Akkari made his move with [js][9s] and was up against Hurman's [ah][3h].
Akkari was in need of some help and the [jh][8d][4h][3c][8c] acquiesced. Akkari doubled up to about 650,000 while Hurman was left with about 600,000. --AV
10:00pm: Less than three
Level 22 - Blinds 8,000-16,000 (2,000 ante)
Players got down to three tables early in level 22, but it didn't seem like players enjoyed being in snug, eight-handed tables.
Two of the tables had nearly simultaneous eliminations, with Michael Esposito getting eliminated seconds before Brian Lemke.
Fraser MacIntyre started the chain of events that led to Esposito's elimination with a raise to 34,000 from early position. Will Molson then three-bet to 92,000 and Esposito moved all-in for about 640,000 from the big blind.
MacIntyre folded but Molson snap-called with [ac][ah]. Esposito showed [9h][9c] and the [2d][3s][jd][8h][8s] board didn't give Esposito the help he needed.
The hand put Molson up to 1.8 million while Esposito won $8,660 for finishing 24th. Lemke on the other hand made the payjump to $10,320 for hanging on a few seconds longer. --AV
9:39pm: More fall, 25 remain
Level 22 - Blinds 8,000-16,000 (2,000 ante)
The number of levels is quickly approaching the number of players remaining.
We're on Level 22 and only 25 players remain. Some players hitting the rail before the dawn of Level 22 included Kyle Frey, Tyler Reiman, Luiz Duarte, and last year's LAPT Bahamas Main Event winner Josh Kay.
Blinds are now 8,000-16,000 with a 2,000 ante and we're pretty sure we'll hit the critical mass of equal amount of players and levels quite soon. It's a sight to behold, like a tournament comet. --AV
9:37pm: Level 22 begins (30 left)
Level 22 - Blinds 8,000-16,000 (2,000 ante)
Down to just 30 players, they move into Level 22. --MH
9:30pm: Another table down
Level 21 - Blinds 6,000-12,000 (2,000 ante)
Poof.
Four tables and 30 players left. While the number of tables and players keep shrinking the number of tournament millionaires is steadily increasing.
One of those newly-minted tournament millionaires is Georgios Sotiropoulos, who accumulated a large portion of those chips in a massive pot against Carter Gill.
Gill had ace-queen on a queen high flop but Sotiropoulos had hit a set of sixes. Aaron Massey was also in the hand with pocket kings and all three players got it in on the flop.
Sotiropoulos' sixes held up and the hand put him up to about 1.7 million. Massey was left with about 400,000 while Gill was eliminated in 31st.
Fraser MacIntyre also recently joined the millionaire's club and now sits with about 1.4 million. Joe Kuether meanwhile has surpassed 2 million and is still our tournament chip leader. --AV
9:15pm: Some busts, some doubles
Level 21 - Blinds 6,000-12,000 (2,000 ante)
We're down to 35 players and players and Joe Kuether is still in the lead with about 1.4 million.
Some of the recently fallen players include Chris Moorman who was the first player out after dinner. Moorman got $6,500 for the finish while Ole Schemion managed to more than double up at the other end of the tournament.
A short-stacked Diogo Cardoso called from under-the-gun and Schemion moved all-in for about 360,000. Action folded to Luiz Duarte and he thought. He counted some chips and thought some more.
He blinked hard but when he opened his eyes he was still faced with the same dilemma.
Duarte had Schemion covered but a loss would leave him short-stacked. Duarte finally committed his chips and Cardoso called as well for a three-way showdown.
Schemion: [8s][8c]
Duarte: [jd][jc]
Cardoso: [Ah][Kh]
The [Th][ad][Td] flop but Cardoso in the lead, but then an [8h] came on the turn to give Duarte a full house. A [9d] completed the board and a defeated Duarte shook his head while Schemion more than doubled up.
Cardoso won $6,500 for the 37th place finish while Schemion chipped up to 800,000 and Duarte dropped to about 245,000.
A few hands later Jeff Rossiter doubled up through Daniel Wienman in a classic flip. Rossiter had [2h][2s] while Weinman showed [ah][kd].
The board was a lowly [4c][3h][6c][4s][8s] and Rossiter doubled up to about 540,000. --AV
8:47pm: Level 21 begins (39 left)
Level 21 - Blinds 6,000-12,000 (2,000 ante)
Our final 39 players are back from dinner and ready to play down to a final table. The next eliminations will earn $6,500, but everyone is still eyeing the $308,220 up top for the winner.
