
The state of Michigan is thinking about legalizing and regulating online casino games, but meanwhile it’s giving its online lottery a boost.
The Michigan Lottery said that starting this week players may be able to use PayPal to fund their accounts, an incredible addition to the roughly 16-month-old online lottery within the state. Michigan was one of the most first within the country to bring lottery games to the web.
According to the AP, the Michigan online lottery offers greater than 30 unique games with plays starting from five cents to $20. You'll win as much as $500,000 online.
More than 276,000 people within the state have registered to play the web games.
The same federal government action allowed for Michigan to have an internet lottery and finally pursue online casinos. In late 2011, the dept of Justice re-interpreted the decades-old Wire Act to permit for states to bring the lottery to the Internet, in addition to authorize intra-state real-money online casino games.
The Michigan online gambling bill was introduced last week and would allow commercial and tribal gambling facilities to use for licenses to run the sites.
In August, a local American tribe with casino gambling in Michigan stopped making revenue sharing payments with the state due to the online lottery.
Though Michigan has an internet lottery, it won’t be going the similar route as Delaware. The latter regulates online casino sites through its lottery.
