GLI president and CEO James Maida earns Lifetime Achievement AwardNO Deposit bonus $43

The 16th Annual Saratoga Institute on Equine, Racing and Gaming Law, sponsored by Brown & Weinraub, PLLC, honored Gaming Laboratories International’s (GLI) president and CEO James R. Maida, Esq. for his life of achievements within the overall gaming industry. 

Brown & Weinraub’s honoree announcement said, “(Maida’s) reputation as a visionary within the gaming industry is easily deserved, and he exemplifies the forward-looking philosophy that has ended in GLI being answerable for 90 percent of the world’s testing on gaming equipment.”

Maida began his professional career within the gaming industry testing equipment with the brand new Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement in Atlantic City. He left the Division to review law and start an independent game testing and consulting business. GLI was co-founded by Maida and Paul J. Magno in 1989, and because then, the corporate has grown to greater than 950 employees located in 20 offices on six continents. 

Maida said, “I am honored and grateful to the 16th Annual Saratoga Institute on Equine, Racing and Gaming Law for recognizing my life’s work within the independent testing and certification of gaming equipment and, equally, my family’s sacrifices over time to make our endeavors successful. I BELIEVE fortunate not to only do what I LIKE every day, but help others along the best way the most productive that I can.”

Apart from his role as GLI’s president and CEO, James and his wife, Dr. Sharon O. Maida, are trustees of the James and Sharon Maida Foundation, Inc., a philanthropic organization that supports the training needs of teens in addition to health care initiatives. Since 1996, the basis has provided over 100 scholarships to local students in addition to supports area people outreach programs for those in need. 

Maida was named probably the most “25 Most Influential Persons within the Gaming Industry” by International Gaming and Wagering Business magazine in 1995, and in September 2009, he was chosen because the “Most Influential People in Gaming” by Global Gaming Business magazine.
